The tour Step by Step

Please be ready for about 14 kilometers of guided hiking in Baja California Sur's Hidden Oasis

Step 1. Meeting and starting the day

The meeting and starting point is Rancho Ecológico Sol de Mayo—the furthest point accessible by vehicle. The recommended meeting time is between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m; there, we will introduce ourselves, provide a brief overview of the tour, and share the information needed to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for everyone.

Step 2. The tour starts at 7:00Am

The tour begins no later than 7:00 a.m. to take advantage of cooler temperatures for walking.

The duration of the tour varies depending on the destination; the farthest points are Rancho "El Capricho" (7 km) and Rancho "Vergelito" (7.5 km), both of which take approximately 3 hours to reach at a leisurely walking pace.

Step 3. Refresh yourself, eat and enjoy free time

You can manage your remaining time by visiting whichever spots you prefer—such as the various swimming holes—provided you account for the return journey before darkness falls in the canyon (around 7:00 PM); consequently, the return trip begins at 4:00 PM to ensure you reach the starting point while there is still daylight.

About Food and drinks during this tour

There is a restaurant at the starting and return point, and there are also restaurants in the village of Santiago. You may also bring your own drinks and lunch.
